Our History

We began generations ago as a Junior High rock club. The club has grown to a dedicated group of rock polishers inspired by Mr. Bidwell's passion and dedication. Join us in honoring his legacy.

"We've made the rock club a part of our family traditions."

Larry Bidwell

Since 1968, Mr. Bidwell has been teaching Earth Sciences in the city of Glendora.

His popularity and passion for geology lead to a following of students as well as parents for rockhounding field trips and lapidary lessons.

What started as a junior high elective has grown into a community of generations of hobbyist who meet every week to learn more from Mr. Bidwell.

Our Future

Larry Bidwell has collected so many beautiful stones and gems over his long career. There are so many club members with stones, jewels, and fine jewelry because of his leadership. We would like to invite you to help us launch the Bidwell Gem & Mineral Museum.
